The palace of the Court of Justice is of Greek- Roman style and the materials used were brick and adobe in the old part and reinforced concrete in the new one. In the entrance, at both sides of the principal stairs forged in marble, it highlights the presence of the Caryatids.
These are two columns with women shape, created by the Catalan sculptor Atonio Coll and Pi.
Through the imposing volume provided by its three floors, the building dominates Montt-Varas square, occupying with its principal facade of austere ornamentation, the whole length of the block of houses. |
