It is an attraction mining town located at the Sixth Region's pre-mountain range. It served, in the second half of the XX century, as support in the operation called EL Teniente mineral, the largest subterranenan Copper Mine of the world. Coya town supplied of electric power and food to the Mineral.

Coya town is located East of Rancagua city. it can be reached by the Copper Road until the Maitenes control and from there it deviates towards the Coya pathway. It is about 30 Km of distance from Rancagua Coya town was the administrative seat of El Teniente Mineral, and it also possess the Hydroelectric Main Station of the same name, that was sold to the Australian company Pacific Hydro Limited some time ago.
The town was constructed on a hillside, with a narrow principal street. It is a quiet place in a very accidental geographic area and with houses of a singular style.
From there to the East, through a road without pavement, the Cypresses Forest Reserve, administrated by Conaf, can be accessed.

  • Termas of Cauquenes.
