The River Petrohué is located  in the Llanquihue's Province.
In its curse there is a section with high chutes called Saltos del Petrohue, very visited by tourists.

The river Petrohue origin in the Lake Todos los Santos and it flows into the sea in the Reloncaví's Estuary. During a big part of its course,it runs through the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park.

Origin of the Name

Petrohué is an indigenous word that means smoking place, most likely due to the steam that rises from the waterfall of Petrohué.
